養蜂家のアンドリューとクレアは、西オーストラリア州の内陸奥地のユーカリの森と、砂漠の中の植物群生地に住むミツバチから、はちみつを採取しています。二人は、ミツバチ達の健康と幸せを大切にしながら、蜂の世話をしています。
できるだけミツバチ達が健康でいられるように、アンドリューとクレアは、一つの巣箱から抽出するはちみつは３分の１以内にとどめ、残りは蜂たちの食糧として残しておきます。
はちみつを採るベストなタイミングを見極めるのは、養蜂家のスキル。巣箱から取り出された巣枠は、抽出場へ運ばれ、採蜜が行われます。こうして採り出された天然はちみつを、そのままボトルに詰めて、みなさまに届けします。
Our bees live in the outback eucalyptus forests and desert woodlands of Western Australia. Our beekeepers, Andrew and Clare, nurture the bee colonies to ensure their health and wellbeing, and they extract no more than one third of the honey to leave them enough food to ensure they stay as healthy as possible, and are kept free from pesticides and antibiotics. The skill of the beekeeper is to know when the honey is ready to be extracted. Honey is extracted by taking the frames from the hives to an extraction plant and the natural honey is bottled as it is and delivered to you.
